A cryptoasset is a digitally represented asset whose transfer or ownership is recorded using a network’s rules. Different assets offer different rights, and some offer no claim on revenue, reserves or an issuer. A familiar ticker does not establish economic value.
Before evaluating a price, identify what the token does, who can change its rules, how supply changes and where liquidity comes from. Gold setups on Rex do not become crypto trade recommendations merely because this course exists.
Worked example
Two tokens can both cost 1 USD while having completely different supplies and rights. Unit price alone is not a useful comparison.
Check your understanding
Does a lower token price make it cheaper in an economic sense?
Show explanation
No. Supply, rights, liquidity and the basis for valuation must also be considered.
