Nodes and transactions

Understand validation, broadcasting and confirmations.

A transaction is proposed to a network and checked against its rules. Full nodes verify data independently. Block production orders transactions, while additional blocks build on earlier history. Seeing a transaction in a wallet interface is not the same as final settlement.

Confirmation requirements depend on the asset, recipient and threat model. Check the correct network and address format. Never infer that two tokens can be sent on the same network because they share a name.

Worked example

A deposit platform may require several confirmations before crediting a balance. Its displayed processing state is distinct from the network’s own transaction state.
